Requirements

There are some requirements to be able to run this program. You will need at least a computer with a 32-bit operating system like Windows, Mac OS X, Linux or other Unix variants. On this machine you need to have installed a Java Runtime environment (JRE) version 1.5 or higher (pre-installed on Mac OS X Tiger and Leopard and OpenSolaris).

The minimum amount of required memory is 256 Mb of RAM. The minimal screen resolution to run iTrain properly is 1024 x 768. Depending on the size of the layout a higher resolution is recommended.

Tested configurations are:

An AMD Duron 800 Mhz with Windows 2000 and Ubuntu 8.04 LTS with 384 Mb memory
A Pentium 4 2,8 Ghz with OpenSolaris 2009.06 and 1 Gb memory.
A Mac Mini PPC 1,42 Ghz with Max OS X Tiger and 512 Mb
A Mac Mini Intel Core Solo 1,5 Ghz with Max OS X Tiger and 1 Gb
A Mac Mini Intel Core Duo 1,83 Ghz with Max OS X Leopard and 2 Gb

So an eight year old PC or a 5 year old Mac is sufficient. An inexpensive Mac Mini that will not take much space and has a perfect sleep function (so that your system is up and running in 3 seconds) is even more convenient.

Important

The minimum requirement is Java 5.0. Java 6.0 can be used as well.
